How to care for your jewellery
You can wear your SCHMUCKWERK jewellery anywhere and anytime. It is made to be worn all day every day and is designed to give you pleasure. There are only a few activities and things where you should take off your jewellery or be especially careful.
- You should take off your jewellery when lifting heavy and angular objects (e.g. beverage crates). When clapping, make sure that you are not wearing rings on both hands, otherwise they could damage each other.
- Hard, angular door handles or heavy vault doors can cause damage to a ring if you open them or bang them with force.
- Please take off your jewellery when having a shower or bath, in the sauna or swimming. Not only because it can get dirty (soap residue) or damaged (chlorine), but also because the glue may come loose in hot water.
- You should take off your rings or wear gloves if you are working with cleaning agents or in the garden.
Care of pearl jewellery
- Dry air caused by central heating and direct sunlight are harmful to your pearl jewellery because pearls are sensitive to heat and become brittle in dry conditions.
- Pearl jewellery and sports are not good friends. Perspiration contains salts that attack pearls, making them dull and brittle.
- Please note the following when wearing pearl jewellery. Pearls are often glued into jewellery. These glues can dissolve in warm steam. Therefore, pearl jewellery should not be worn in situations involving hot water (such as washing your hands) or hot steam (sauna).
- Should your pearls ever get wet, don’t worry. Simply dry them off gently with a soft cloth.
Storage
Try to store your jewellery separately in soft containers. Pearl jewellery in particular should have its own space. Cleaning
- Environmental influences and contact with other materials or cosmetics can contaminate your jewellery. With the right care, you can maintain the beauty of your jewellery.
- Jewellery without pearls can be cleaned by hand with warm water, soap or washing-up liquid and a soft brush. Then rinse with clear water, dry as much as possible and, if necessary, leave to dry.
- There are small, effective ultrasonic devices for use at home. If you love the sparkle of your diamonds, a device like this is a good idea.
